The city of Orihuela will host the Miss Intercontinental Beauty Pageant in September 2011, a beauty contest that will feature representatives of 63 countries from across the globe. Councillor for Tourism, Pedro Mancebo, said that this is the very first occasion that the pageant has been held in Spain. Julio Cesar Battaglia, Miss Intercontinental and Showstars director liked the city Orihuela to host the pageant.
